Terms of Service

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and maplediv ("we," "us"), operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, governing your use of https://maplediv.com and related features (the "Service").

If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of your relationship with us.

You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory (18 in Quebec) to create an account and use the Service.

maplediv provides Canadian-focused portfolio tooling that may include:

• Portfolio management: track holdings, shares, cost basis, and account types (TFSA, RRSP, Non-Registered), subject to plan limits
• Market data: quotes and history from third-party providers (for example Yahoo Finance)
• Dividend / income tracking and goals
• Explore: ticker research pages and related charts/data
• Tools: Canadian finance calculators (estimates only)
• News: aggregated financial headlines from third parties (for example Finnhub)
• Social: optional public profiles (symbols-oriented presentation; private by default)
• MapleAudit (Premium): deterministic portfolio diagnostics (concentration, diversification, dividends, exposure, CRA-style pattern indicators) and PDF export — educational analysis, not compliance clearance or tax advice
• MapleAI (Premium): portfolio-aware Canadian stock research using explainable structural fit scores and gap analysis — not price predictions, guaranteed returns, or an LLM chat advisor
• Earn (optional): cryptocurrency mining dashboard / configuration helpers; mining runs on your hardware and may interact with third-party pools
• Premium subscription: unlocks paid features via Stripe

Features, limits, and availability may change. Some items may be labeled "coming soon" and are not guaranteed.

Access typically requires signing in with Google OAuth. You must provide accurate information and keep your Google account secure. You are responsible for activity under your maplediv account.

Free accounts are generally limited (for example one portfolio and a limited number of tickers). Premium increases those limits as described on the Premium page at the time of purchase.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create security risk.

• Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect

Premium is a paid subscription billed through Stripe. Current list pricing shown on the Service is CAD $8.00 per month (taxes may apply where required). Pricing and included features may change; we will provide notice of material price changes as described below.

• Free: core portfolio tracking and many free tools/features as offered on the site, subject to portfolio/ticker limits
• Premium: additional analytics and Premium-gated products such as MapleAudit (including PDF generation) and MapleAI, plus higher portfolio/ticker limits, as described on the Premium page

By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Fees are generally non-refundable for the current billing period, except where required by applicable consumer protection law (including Quebec consumer protection rules where they apply).

You may cancel through the Premium / account cancellation flow or by contacting us. After cancellation, Premium access ends according to the cancellation behaviour implemented in the Service (which may remove Premium privileges promptly). Charges already processed for the then-current period are typically not refunded.

We may change features or pricing with reasonable notice (generally at least 30 days for material price increases). Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance; if you disagree, cancel before the change takes effect.

The Service—including software, design, branding, MapleAudit, MapleAI, and maplediv marks—is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your personal or internal purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of portfolio data you submit. You grant us a license to host, process, and display that data as needed to provide and secure the Service (including optional public-profile display if you enable it).

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, maplediv and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or investment losses, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) CAD $100 — except where liability cannot be limited under Quebec or other applicable law (including certain consumer rights that cannot be waived).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations, non-payment, abuse, legal risk, or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion by contacting us.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Data handling follows the Privacy Policy. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except as required by law.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where appropriate (in-product notice and/or email).

If you continue using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms, except where additional consent is required by law. If you disagree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Subject to mandatory consumer protections, courts in Montreal, Quebec shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act that cannot be waived by contract.
